Between my hectic work schedule and taking care of every one in my life it is so important to always remember to take some time out for myself. Most days I have so much going on and I forget to care for myself and the older I get I realize just how important it is to take care of myself mentally, physically, and emotionally. There are so many different ways I like to have my me time, if you are interested in learning new ways to pamper yourself then keep reading for all the deets.
Care For My Skin:
I love to take care of my skin from facial treatments including cleansing, exfoliation and treatments. I love to apply a sugar scrub or mask all over my face and lips, I like to leave my mask or scrub on for about 30 minutes while I indulge in my current book that I am reading. Once I wash my face my skin always looks so fresh and clean. Exfoliation is key to flawless skin. In addition to being incredibly nice and relaxing exfoliation helps to maintain the health of your skin to get rid of signs of aging, and it also treats my acne and breakouts.
Getting a massage is the next way that I pamper myself. I sit at a computer all day working so I tend to carry a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. Getting a massage from time to time is so amazing and I love to get a full body massage to loosen up my muscles and relieve my pain. Massages also helps to reduce my anxiety and headaches.
Mani + Pedi:
About once a month I go to the nail salon to relax and get my nails done. It’s so much fun to pick a new nail polish color each time I go and I just love having someone else paint my nails opposed to me doing it myself. Sometimes it’s good to treat yourself. Manicures and pedicures can help give your hands and feet a youthful appearance by getting rid of dead skin and hangnails. Nail technicians apply creams and oils to moisturize and nourish your skin and cuticles.
Change Up My Hair:
One thing that always puts me in a good mood is switching up my hair, from changing my hair color, adding extensions or rocking braids. Changing my hair is so peaceful and relaxing. I’m really big on journaling, giving myself a pedicure every once in awhile and putting a mask on my face too. Another way I practice taking care of myself is exercising, I feel great afterwards and it’s important to remain in shape.
Yes I agree exercising is also a great way to take care of yourself. I just started working out in the mornings and I am loving it.
